Annual GAO Report Adds 79 Ideas To Govt. Push To Trim Fat

Law360, Washington (April 27, 2017, 7:57 PM EDT) — An annual report published on Wednesday by the U.S. Government Accountability Office added 79 new ideas to hundreds already offered since the efficiency initiative launched in 2011 in the effort to save the federal budget billions by reducing duplication, overlap and fragmentation of efforts.

Defense Contractor Gets Two Years In Faulty Parts Case

Law360, Los Angeles (April 21, 2017, 8:52 PM EDT) — A former defense contractor who was found guilty of supplying the U.S. Department of Defense with nonconforming military parts was sentenced to two years in prison and about $280,000 in restitution by an Ohio federal judge Friday.

Stephan Boggs, 64, of Columbus, was convicted of four counts of mail fraud and 21 counts of false claims by an Ohio federal jury last year. Prosecutors had accused him of supplying nonconforming parts in 30 different purchase orders issued by the DOD’s Defense Logistics Agency, meaning the parts..
